AIM Class, Level 3


Level 3 – Dynamic Handgun

This course is open to students that have completed Level 2 Handgun Proficiency and are ready to add speed to their skill sets. It is designed to give you the skill sets needed to operate your pistol proficiently, accurately and quickly. This is a draw and fire course from exposed and concealed conditions. You will get to shoot on multiple targets under time pressure. You will learn how to instinctively diagnose and clear handgun malfunctions. You will leave this course with a greater level of confidence in your abilities to use your pistol in a defensive situation.
This 1 day course covers:
  • How to improve performance with practice
  • Rapid Draw from concealed and exposed holster on the move
  • Malfunction clearing on the move
  • Offline Movement
  • Recoil Management
  • Techniques for combat accuracy
Careless/unsafe gun handling is not acceptable and will be cause for removal from the class.
Course Cost: $175 + Range fee
Duration: 8 hours
Range Fee: $5.00 FSC members / $16.00 non-members
You’ll need:
  • A note pad and pen
  • Drinks, snacks and lunch
  • $15 for the Sac Valley Shooting Center range fee
  • A folding chair (for break time on the range)
  • The handgun(s) that you intend to shoot with
  • At least 3 functional magazines for each semi-automatic pistol and/or at least 3 functional speed loaders for each revolver – the more, the better
  • A strong side, hip holster for each gun – must cover the trigger
  • Magazine and/or speed loader holders
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Ammo – approximately 300-500 rounds (Depending on flow of class)
  • Clothing appropriate for weather, outdoor, and dirt surface range
  • Sunscreen
  • A hat with brim
  • A belt
  • An open mind and a great attitude

To qualify you cannot have been convicted of a felony or violent misdemeanor, and not under any criminal indictment that would legally prevent you from receiving this training.
